Modular Lifts

Redefining the passenger lift to deliver accessible stations for all

The Challenge

Network Rail’s ‘Access for All’ strategy aims to deliver greater accessibility at more than 300 stations across the UK, making it possible for disabled users, people with prams and pushchairs and cyclists to access the rail network.

At the same time, Network Rail wanted to achieve key objectives of low embedded carbon, rapid installation, and low through-life costs. Also, given the many rural locations destined for station upgrades, the new passenger lifts must also deliver far greater reliability and minimal maintenance.

The Solution

ARX’s modular lift is a first-of-a-kind outdoor rated lift system, engineered with a strong focus on delivering a safe and robust passenger lift solution that is easy to both maintain and to use.

The lift is designed for rapid deployment and a low carbon footprint. A complete lift module is fully assembled and tested before being transported by road to site for installation and commissioning, with minimum impact on station availability.
